Postnatal Planning Session

Setting You up for Success in your Postpartum

In the Postnatal Planning Session we cover everything you need to prepare so that you are set up for success in terms of what to expect for the early days with your new baby.

The session includes a copy of 'My Matrescence Journal' which I will bring and we could go through this together, with me asking reflective questions.

We will look at 6 domains of the 4th trimester and cover:

  • Supporting the mother

  • Supporting the baby

  • Supporting the father/partner

How it works

We cover the fundamentals of the postnatal period, such as what to expect physically and emotionally, your circle of support, and what your practical needs will be. We can cover top meals to prepare for the postnatal period; ones that help you build back strength, and promote recovery and breastfeeding.

We would also cover the concept of Matresence, the changes in our brains, and what we know now about neuroscience and parenting. The importance of understanding what’s happening to our brains is becoming increasingly recognised as pivotal to a successful postpartum experience.

How can I prepare for the postpartum period?

Preparing for your baby is about more than choosing a cot and packing your hospital bag.

Postnatal planning gives you the opportunity to think about how you'll be supported once your baby arrives, from feeding and recovery to rest, practical help and your emotional wellbeing.

Together, we'll create a personalised plan to help you feel more prepared, supported and confident as you enter the fourth trimester.

Your transformation

The idea is that this is your OWN plan, created by you both, and the outcome is intended that you both will feel more informed, confident and prepared for the postnatal period.

Many couples report back that these sessions are very useful for getting their wishes clarified, and getting on the ‘same page’ with one another.

Each session is 1.5 hrs

Fee: £120
